iPhone client/app
It seems like most of the people working for us have either an iPhone or an iPod touch. It'd be great to have a very simple app that allows them to login and maybe select an individual camera to view. Wouldn't have to have a ton of features, but just the ability to pull up the cameras on the iPhone/iPod touch would be great.

Hmm, that's a sound approach as well now that I think about it. Looking forward to your progress!

The MJPEG interface does work well enough on the iPhone and even better on the iPad. Our plan was to charge a (small) fee for the iPhone app if we developed one so we wouldn't bog down the pricing on the server. An iPhone app would give the option for video playback, but that would really only be useful on an iPad

Is an App really necessary if the mobile web client works really well? Almost all other chinese/korean DVR manufacturers out there are "android/iphone" ready because their web interface is pretty comprehensive. Additionally, on the iPhone you can make a Safari webpage a home icon and can launch the server/remote interface easily (as if an ":app"), and bluecherry already works like this. This would also work for the iPad, and well honestly reduce the cost of having to develop for two separate mobile platforms....which keeps the cost of BlueCherry down.
That's my opinion.

iPad app would be really cool. Silly question, does the iPad and iPhone differ so much that an app written for an iPhone would not work on an iPad?

I agree an iPad app would be awesome, especially once we have the API in version 2 setup the way we want it. We've talked about the app so it's something we are looking at, but I would imagine it would be after our 2.0 release.

An iPad app would be awesome. Imagine how sales of Bluecherry DVRs would increase if you were the first to introduce an iPad security application!
